The 23rd International Conference on Atomic Physics will be held in the Ecole polytechnique, a high level graduate school 15 km south of Paris.
Warning! On Sunday 22, when arriving by train from Charles de Gaulle airport, RER B is not direct, you must change in Gare du Nord station, ask people in Gare du Nord for finding the right platform. By public transportationBuses will be organized from Massy-Palaiseau RER B station, see below. We recommend that you join this station and take the free conference buses. See also the information on the 1-week transportation pass for the RER on the accomodation page.
Conference busesFree buses will be organized from Massy-Palaiseau RER B station. On Sunday 22, buses will drive you to the Polytechnique campus between 16:30 and 18:00, and then back to Massy-Palaiseau after the welcome reception. From Monday 23 to Friday 27, the buses are scheduled between 8.00 and 8.45 am to reach the campus every morning. Look for the ICAP sign.For the students in the basic rooms, and for the people at Hôtel d'Orsay, there will also be a bus service in the morning, more detail will come soon.
Regular busesIn case you have missed the conference bus, you can take the Albatrans buses number 91.06B, 91.06C or 91.10, see the orange labels on the map just above (you must buy a ticket) and get off at the "Laboratoires" stop. It is a 10 minute drive between the train station and the campus. Have a look at the map of the campus below. The full schedule is available here. 91.10 schedule on Sunday 22: bus at Massy-Palaiseau station at From Monday to Friday: regular buses every 7 minutes between 7:30 and 9:00.
Every day transportation from your hotel to Massy-PalaiseauIf you need to take the RER train every day to reach the campus, we suggest that you buy a 1-week Navigo pass (the "Découverte" pass). You will then be free to take all public transportations within a given zone. Depending on where your hotel is, you will need to take a 1-4, 1-5 or 4-5 zone card (caution: Paris is not included in the 4-5 zone). Zone 1 is Paris downtown, Massy is in zone 4, and zone 5 starts from Le Guichet on. Typically, if your hotel is inside Paris, you need a 1-4 zone 1-week Navigo pass. It will cost 30.25 euros (for 1-4) or 33.90 euros (for 1-5) for 1 week from Monday to Sunday, plus 5 a euros fee. You can buy it at any train, metro or RER station. You will need to give a photograph. Caution: as the week starts from Monday on, it will not allow you to reach the campus on the first Sunday (the 22nd). Take single travel tickets for this first day. For your trip back, you shall know that Orly airport is in zone 3 and Charles de Gaulle (Roissy) airport is in zone 5.

Campus map: The talks will take place in the halls labeled (14) on the map. The conference buses arrive at the 'cour des cérémonies', labeled (P), in front of the lake. The 'Laboratoires' stop is at the road crossing on the left, next to 'parking des laboratoires'.
