The SAI team has carried out high-resolution spectroscopy of molecular gases confined in cells of thickness comparable to the excitation wavelength (thin-cells fabricated by the LPL optical workshop).
The team is using this rovibrational spectroscopy technique to obtain information on molecules of atmospheric interest and enrich molecular databases.
The results, published in Nature Communications, pave the way for interfacing molecules with photonic platforms, with applications in frequency metrology and fundamental physics (precision measurements of Casimir-Polder and molecule-surface interactions).
