The mechanical workshop participates in the laboratory’s projects involving mechanical work from the outset by carrying out feasibility studies and advising the teams.
It also monitors and carries out the work in consultation with the researchers and in interaction with the other workshops.
Beyond general mechanical work, regular investment in equipment makes possible work as diverse as argon welding for vacuum and ultra-high vacuum (welding station), surface treatments for the production of optical protection (sandblaster), small boilermaking and metalwork.
Most of the laboratory’s often very specific requests can thus be handled internally.
